We need you to make this year big.

This year's tournament will be held in Roseville, California. Less than 45 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport. Game fields will be at various locations and directions to each can be found on the Facilities page.

The tournament is a 2-3 game guarantee with each division having 4-6 teams, 3 in each pool. The top two teams in each pool will play for the CHAMPIONSHIP! (Teams that go 0-2 in pool play will only receive 2 games) There will be two divisions of play, the Blue Division (x men division) and the Grey Division (unlimited and Super weight). Once divisions fill up, we will put your team on a waiting list and our committee will decide if an additional pool is needed. Note: The committee reserves the right to change the divisions.

New in 2016 - games will be filmed/live streamed  We are the only West Coast tournament in the country to do so this year. Sponsors will love to be a part of this new technology and only the California Bowl has it.

Check-in and Weigh-In

Check-ins will be done at Placer County Fairgrounds 800 All American City Blvd Roseville, CA 95678. Time and coaches are responsible to have their players at that time. We will not be able to wait for late players.

All weigh-ins will happen Between 7am-9am for teams scheduled to play before 12 on friday, and Late check-in 10am-12pm for teams scheduled after 12pm on Friday, November 24. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we have found it be the best way to streamline the process.

All paperwork must be ready for the team upon weigh in. Please make sure there are no errors! We will be doing full certification this year as there have been issues with it in the past. Please remember that all players will need a STATE ID for the Super Unlimited weight Divisions Regardless of Conference. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY AND NO ISSUE OF A REFUND WILL BE GIVEN.  If a team roster weight average varies by more than 3lbs. from registration paper work to verification weigh upon check-in, that team may be subject to re bracketing. No refunds.

If a team is found to have brought in ineligible players they will be disqualified from the tournament and all funds will be forfeited. There is no gray area here.

Coaches will be required to wear lanyard badges and players will be required to wear a wristband for the tournament as proof that they participated in the weigh in. Field generals will be checking the wristbands before each game, and if a player is found without their identification, they will not be allowed to play. They will also be checking Coaching Credentials on the sidelines. There are no parents allowed on the sidelines....NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Coaches will certify rosters/books 30 min before the start of each game. All credentials will be checked and verified.

Team Matching and Tournament Placement (Unlimited Grey Division)

Teams will be matched according to weight and age. The average weight will be calculated minus the team's lightest and heaviest players. A player whose weight exceeds the average team's weight by 15% (not to exceed 18 lbs for 11 years old and under or 25 lbs for 12 years and older) will be designated a down lineman only. Players designated as the down lineman position will have an "X" placed on their helmet and receive a different color ankle band. No players marked with an "X" are to carry the ball and may only advance on the bowl during defensive turnovers. "X" players are allowed on kickoff and kickoff return teams, but may not advance the wall. A maximum of 5 "X" players will be allowed on the field at any time.

The committee feels this matching is more accurate than local league play.

The following divisions will be used for the Xmen Divison

Midgets - Over 175 lbs.

Jr. Midgets - Over 150 lbs.

Pee Wee - Over 130 lbs.

Jr. Pee Wee - Over 90 lbs.

Mighty Mites - Over 75 lbs.

Equipment Requirements

All participants must have necessary equipment to compete in the tournament.  All players must have: a mouthpiece that attaches to the helmet's face mask, shoulder pads, certified NOCSAE helmet with certification stickers legible, and a soft cup supporter. Steel tipped cleats are NOT allowed. Cleat length will be limited to .5 inches.

All players on the team including flex players must have matching uniforms with no duplicate numbers on the back.

Insurance

All teams must have proof of current team or association insurance to participate. A copy of proof of coverage must be mailed with each registration packet. Without proof of insurance, teams will not be allowed to participate.

All games will be played under current NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) and California Bowl Tournament rules.

Please remember we do not live in a perfect world and there will be unanticipated situations that arise. We will deal with them in the most effective way we can. Always remember, this for and about the kids.
